A devastating mid-air collision between an American Airlines flight and a U.S. military helicopter over Washington, D.C., has left families in mourning. Among the victims was a woman whose husband, Hamaad Raza, shared the final text message he received from her before the crash. The flight, carrying 64 passengers, was approaching Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport when it collided with the helicopter and plunged into the Potomac River.
Raza’s wife had texted him, saying the plane was about to land, but when his messages went unanswered, he knew something was terribly wrong. “I’m just praying that someone is pulling her out of the river right now,” Raza said, his voice breaking with emotion.

The Black Hawk helicopter involved was on a training mission, and all three servicemen onboard are presumed dead. Rescue teams have recovered 18 bodies, but the search for survivors continues. As the investigation unfolds, families are left to mourn their loved ones and seek answers.
